There’s nothing better after a hard day's work than a nice whiskey on the rocks, and I really wanted to capture that feeling of refreshment in this image. I kept the background elements neutral to draw the eye to the rich brown colour of the whiskey. The glass, ice cubes and water were all modeled from scratch, while the whiskey was made using a standard fluid simulation. The light source is simply the background being used as an emission layer. For the finishing touches I added a shallow depth of field on the camera to further draw the attention to the center of the frame, as well as some colour correction and a subtle vignette added in Photoshop.
